The Benefits of Reflexology for Children and Teens

Growing up today can feel overwhelming. From school pressures and exam stress to emotional ups and downs during puberty, children and teens are facing more challenges than ever before. Reflexology offers a gentle, natural way to support their emotional and physical wellbeing during these important years.

Reflexology helps to calm the nervous system, encouraging deep relaxation and emotional balance. By working on specific points on the feet, hands, or face, Reflexology can ease anxiety, improve sleep, boost mood, and support hormonal changes. It’s a non-invasive, nurturing treatment that meets each young person exactly where they are — creating space for them to relax, feel heard, and restore their inner resilience.

Some of the emotional benefits children and teens may experience include:

  • Reduced anxiety and school stress

  • Improved mood and emotional regulation

  • Greater confidence and self-esteem

  • Better focus and clarity during exams

  • Support through hormonal changes and body transitions

  • Deeper, more restful sleep

Each session is tailored to the individual, offering a safe, supportive environment where they can feel calm, cared for, and empowered to thrive, an adult stays present with anyone under 18.

The Treatment: Reflexology for Children & Teens

This 30-minute reflexology session is designed specifically for children and teens, with a parent or guardian present throughout. Prior to your appointment, you’ll receive a consultation form to help me understand your child’s individual needs. If needed, I may suggest a short phone call to gather more details.

During the session, your child will receive a gentle, tailored reflexology treatment in a safe and supportive space. At the end of the session, I’ll teach you—the parent or guardian—through a simple reflexology routine you can use at home to extend the benefits of the treatment.

You’ll also receive aftercare support via email to help you feel confident using these techniques at home and ensure a positive, ongoing experience.

If your child or teen feels comfortable, they’re welcome to continue with regular sessions or book as needed. I work with each young person’s unique needs and circumstances in mind, and draw on my background as a children’s yoga teacher to gently incorporate relaxation techniques where appropriate.

Together, we create a calm, nurturing experience that supports your child’s wellbeing.

Online Reflexology Support for Children & Teens

Can’t get to the clinic? I offer online reflexology sessions, where I teach you—the parent or guardian—how to use reflexology techniques at home.

After booking, you’ll receive a consultation form to complete so I can understand your child or teen’s needs. During the live video call, your child/teen is present along with you (and any other caregiver you'd like to include). I’ll teach and guide you through easy, practical reflexology techniques you can use together at home.

You’ll also receive aftercare advice via email to support your learning and help you feel confident continuing the treatment in your child/teens own space.

Meet Your Reflexologist

Hi, I’m Hayley, a fully qualified Reflexologist (MAR) with over 20 years experience working with families and women's health.  I’m also a certified children’s yoga teacher, and I bring a gentle, holistic approach to every session.

As a mum of two - whom has experienced school avoidance and anxiety - I understand first-hand how overwhelming things can feel.  Reflexology has been a powerful, natural tool in our home for supporting both emotional and physical wellbeing, and I’m passionate about sharing that with other families.

Whether you visit in person or connect online, I create a safe, calm space for your child or teen—always working with their unique needs in mind.

FAQ's

How do I book?

Pop me a message on the contact form below and add your number I will give you a call to arrange a suitable time, location and date

Does Reflexology tickle?

Not at all, Reflexology is a very different experience to being tickled.  I use firmer, more definite touch when applying pressure to the feet...not one person has jumped out of the chair yet! Even the most ticklish of children!

My child is very shy

Well they are very here, I was a shy kid, I have parented two shy kids and I am a very friendly, understanding soul.  We go at your child/teen's pace and at any time we can stop.

What is different between a child/teen treatment and Adult's

Shorter 30 minutes appointment and a more 'casual' environment to suit a child/teen.

Does Reflexology hurt?

My treatment's certainly do not hurt, I tailor each treatment to the individual and learnt many years ago firm pressure is not always the best way to help heal the body.

Do I stay during a treatment?

Any child/teen under the age of 18 needs a parent/guradian with them and bonus, I teach you some reflexology  moves you can use at home to impress the rest of the family and friends.

Is Reflexology suitable for my child?

I treat all ages from birth to end of life.  I specialise in women's health, but still do treat a wide variety of people.  There are some exceptions to who Reflexology can help and I would advise getting in touch to find out more. Please note: Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.

I am stressed too?

Then please consider the work I do with adults too - click here to read more

How will my child/teen feel after a treatment?

Deeply relaxed.  Some children/teens feel tired for a few hours after a treatment others are energised, it really does depend on the treatment you have recieved and your response.  After care advice is ALWAYS given at your treatment because it is very individual. I pride myself in educating you about your body so you can understand what's happening (this is the somatic part of the work).  They will be able to continue with 'normal' life after

Does Reflexology work?

My kids have experienced reflexology, and it’s been an invaluable support for both of them and us as parents. After over 20 years of working as a Reflexologist, I’ve seen countless lives transformed—including my own and my mum’s (which is why I decided to train in this therapy). I feel confident in saying that Reflexology can have a positive impact on your health, particularly for improving sleep, reducing stress, and much more.

Please note: Reflexology is not a diagnosis or cure. It’s a complementary therapy that supports your health, and the best way to find out is to give it a try.

Reflexology should not be used as a substitute for seeking medical advice
